Forum Friday: Is Southeast Wisconsin Ready to Confront its Affordable Housing Challenges?

By Therese Schneider

For the September installment of our virtual event series, Forum Friday, Wisconsin Policy Forum Senior Researcher Joe Peterangelo discussed our recent report on the city of Milwaukee’s affordable housing efforts.

Then, we invited our guest speakers to join the discussion. Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Ideas Lab reporter James Causey discussed his recent reporting on metro Milwaukee’s troubled history with this issue; and Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave explained his county’s efforts to address this challenge, including its efforts to expand housing options to accommodate new economic growth.

Watch the discussion here:

During Forum Fridays, we discuss a timely research topic and invite notable guests and Forum members to join the conversation. This doesn’t replace our in-person events such as our Viewpoint Luncheons or Policy in a Pub, which are on hold for now during the current crisis. But, we hope this can be a new way to keep you informed and connected on our state’s most pressing public policy issues. Stay tuned for more Forum Friday events in the near future!
