Forum research has found that long before COVID-19 began to wreak havoc on the health and livelihoods of southeast Wisconsin residents, many households struggled to cover their housing costs. The problem is particularly acute in Milwaukee and Racine, where average household incomes lag the rest of the region.
Join us on September 25 for the next installment of our virtual event series, Forum Friday, where we’ll explore the depth of the problem and potential solutions. Senior Researcher Joe Peterangelo will discuss our recent report on the city of Milwaukee’s affordable housing efforts. Then, we’ll invite Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Ideas Lab reporter James Causey to discuss his recent reporting on metro Milwaukee’s troubled history with this issue; and Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave to explain his county’s efforts to address this challenge, including its efforts to expand housing options to accommodate new economic growth.

We want to hear from you, too! We’ll conclude with a Q&A session for registered participants. Registration is free, but required for this event. We look forward to your participation!
What is Forum Friday? In this webinar format, we discuss a timely research topic and invite notable guests and Forum members to join the conversation. While this new virtual event series doesn’t replace our in-person events, we hope this can be a new way to keep you informed and connected on our state’s most pressing public policy issues.
