MunicipalFacts18

Finances & Demography in 248 Cities and Villages

July 2018

Print

MunicipalFacts18 provides financial information on 248 of Wisconsin’s most populous cities and villages. For most measures, five years of data allow users to track trends. The book includes figures on municipal expenditures, property taxes, shared revenues, and debt, as well as information on equalized property values and resident income.

The book includes statistics for cities and villages with 2016 populations between 2,000 and 200,000 that account for over half the state’s population and nearly two-thirds of municipal spending. Due to their size and uniqueness, Milwaukee and Madison are excluded from the study but detailed in an addendum.
