Unpacking the Economics of Early Childhood Education and Care in Wisconsin
Virtual event | June 9, 2023
Our Friday, June 9 edition of our popular virtual event series, Forum Friday, focused on the cost of early childhood care in Wisconsin.
We started with an overview of our recently released Forum research that examines how all three sets of stakeholders within the child care system – families, employees, and operators – are simultaneously struggling. Federal pandemic aid offered temporary relief but is now approaching its end, raising fears not only for providers, but also for families and the state’s workforce and economy. Then we brought on our Forum Friday guests for a further discussion on this topic.
Our Forum Friday guests included Emilie Amundson, Secretary, Wisconsin Department of Children and Families, Vincent Lyles, Executive Director, Milwaukee Succeeds and Sachin Shivaram, Chief Executive Officer, Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry.
During Forum Fridays, we discuss a timely research topic and invite notable guests and Forum members to join the conversation. We hope this can be another way to keep you informed and connected on our state’s most pressing public policy issues. Stay tuned for more Forum Friday events in the near future!
