Forum Friday: Wisconsin’s Housing Crisis and Potential Policy Solutions

Join us Friday, July 26, for our popular virtual event series, Forum Friday! This installment will focus on Wisconsin’s growing challenges in providing its residents with an adequate range of affordable housing options.

We’ll begin with a presentation detailing recent Forum research on housing, including this March report on how Wisconsin housing prices have risen much faster than incomes since 2017. Also on the agenda will be an upcoming report analyzing Wisconsin’s trends in housing permitting, a key metric linked to new housing construction.

We’ll follow that up by talking to our guests about housing trends in their regions, including the future outlook. We’ll discuss strategies they are pursuing to enhance housing affordability in their area, and what more can be done by state and federal policymakers.
