What is Forum Friday? In this webinar format, we discuss a timely research topic and invite notable guests and Forum members to join the conversation. While this new virtual event series doesn't replace our in-person events, we hope this can be a new way to keep you informed and connected on our state's most pressing public policy issues.

Re-Imagining Public Safety in Milwaukee

Virtual Event | July 30 | 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

Join us Friday, July 30, for our virtual event series, Forum Friday. This installment will focus on efforts to re-imagine public safety in Milwaukee.

We’ll give an overview of police reform discussions and challenges in Milwaukee and learn more about the city task force recently formed to look at diverting certain nonviolent police calls to other entities. And we’ll discuss how the city and county might better collaborate to strengthen efforts to respond to individuals facing mental health crises.

Helping us explore these issues will be our Forum Friday guests: Milwaukee Alderwoman Chantia Lewis, Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division Administrator Mike Lappen, and Acting Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman.
